PROPOSED M62 JUNCTION 8

Early day motion 1552, tabled 14 July 1998 by Helen Jones (Labour). Signed by 27 members.

That this House notes with concern that the public enquiry into the proposed new junction 8 on the M62 has been postponed until early 1999; expresses its support for the new junction, which will open up access to a major economic development site in the North-West; sympathises with the people of Warrington who have suffered from increasing traffic congestion as a result of the failure to build the new junction; and calls upon the Government to ensure that the public enquiry into this scheme takes place as soon as possible.

Signatures by party: Labour 23, Labour/Co-operative 2, Liberal Democrat 2.
