DEVELOPMENT ON FLOOD PLAINS (ENVIRONMENT AGENCY POWERS) BILL
House of Commons, 29 January 2010.
Bob Spink (Independent, Castle Point)
On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker. I would be grateful for your advice. Would it be in the democratic interest for it to be on the record that the objection came from the Conservative Benches?
Alan Haselhurst (Deputy Speaker, Saffron Walden)
The hon. Gentleman should be clear about what he is saying before putting it on the record. In any event, it is not a point of order for the Chair. He knows Friday procedure as well as I do.
Jeremy Wright (Conservative, Rugby and Kenilworth)
Further to that point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker. I wish to clarify that the objection came not from the Conservative Benches, but from the Government Benches.
Alan Haselhurst (Deputy Speaker, Saffron Walden)
I hope that we have now cleared that point up.
